Sports Premium
At St Joseph's, we are committed to ensuring that our pupils have access to high-quality physical education (PE) and sports activities. To support this commitment, we receive additional funding from the government known as the Sports Premium.
The aim of this funding is to help schools enhance the physical education and sports experiences available to pupils. It is part of the government’s broader efforts to combat childhood obesity, improve children's physical and mental health, and foster a love of sport from an early age.
We are committed to using this funding effectively and transparently. Each year, we publish a detailed report on how the Sports Premium Funding has been spent, the impact it has had on our pupils, and our plans for future spending.
Accountability
Since September 2013, Ofsted inspections have reported on P.E. and sport provision and on how schools spend their additional funding.
Schools are accountable and are required to publish by April 2014, on their websites, details of how they spend (or will spend) their P.E. and Sport Premium funding. They must also include detail about the impact this funding has on pupils' P.E. and sport participation and attainment.
