Following St Carlo’s example: prayer and celebration 💜💛

Year 6 celebrated the feast day of their class saint, St Carlo Acutis, by following his example of spending time with Jesus in the Blessed Sacrament.

Fr Ben kindly opened the church and arranged for the Blessed Sacrament to be exposed in the monstrance on the altar. This gave the children a special opportunity to be still in Jesus’ presence.

The children chose how to respond: sitting quietly and meditating on Jesus, writing reflections in their prayer journals or creating art inspired by the moment. Each response was a prayer offered to God.

St Carlo described the Eucharist as “my highway to heaven.” We reflected on how encountering Jesus in the Eucharist draws us closer to him and helps us grow in love.

Back in class, a mini feast continued our celebration with food, friendship and joy. Thank you, Fr Ben, for helping us honour our class saint through prayer and encounter.

St Carlo Acutis, pray for us!
