The Book of Kindness: Celebrating Acts of Kindness in Our School

At St. Joseph's, we believe that kindness is at the heart of our school community. That’s why we are excited to launch our Book of Kindness – a special way to recognise and celebrate the thoughtful actions that make our school a caring and supportive place for everyone.

What is the Book of Kindness?

The Book of Kindness is a place where pupils, staff, parents, and visitors can share moments of kindness they have witnessed or experienced. Whether it’s a small act of generosity or a gesture that made a big difference, we want to record and celebrate these meaningful moments.

How Does It Work?

✅ If a pupil sees or experiences an act of kindness, they can write it on a post-it note.
✅ They hand it to a Mini Vinnie member, who will carefully write it into the Book of Kindness.
✅ The original author then signs their name to make it official!

For parents, staff, and visitors, there is a submission box in the school entrance where messages can be left. These will be added to the book regularly.

Examples of Kindness We Want to Celebrate

💛 Helping a friend understand their work when they are struggling.
💛 Standing up for someone who feels left out or upset.
💛 Giving up their time to help tidy up or support a younger child.
💛 Writing a kind note to encourage someone.
💛 Making an effort to welcome a new pupil or visitor to our school.

Why is This Important?

Kindness makes our school stronger. By recognising and valuing these acts, we encourage pupils to think about the impact of their actions and inspire others to do the same. Our Book of Kindness is a lasting reminder that even small acts of kindness can make a big difference!

📍 The Book of Kindness is located on our prayer table in the hall. We invite everyone to take a moment to read through the inspiring stories already shared and to keep adding to it.
